Creating Some Art Everyday

cocoinchargecrop1Happy New Year!

The picture is of Coco our cat helping me to create art by sitting on top of the case I keep my pencils and pens in,:-)

Have you been wanting to be more creative? Would you love to create art everyday but just don’t seem to be able to find the time.?

I have an idea for you. Get a large sheet of watercolor paper and using a pencil divide it into a grid. You can choose how big those sections in the grid are, but remember you will be creating art in one of them each and every day. So the smaller they are, the less frightening it will be for you,  unless of course you hate working small.

If you are brave you could make each grid space around 2 inches square. You can cut them all up and pop them in a box which is called your magic everyday art box. I would decorate the box and put some big doorknobs on the bottom of it to be legs.

Fill your box with the plain square then each day, find a small amount of time to paint, layer paper, collage with fabric or journal on. You will find yourself feeling a wonderful sense of accomplishment by having these remarkable tiny pieces of original art created each and every day.

What will you do with them all? You will use these arty grids in your bigger artwork. Its so wonderful to have art all ready for adding to bigger works. In fact many artists, especially those who work quickly have lots of different pieces of left over art work or textile art that they then add to their bigger pieces of work.

Another way you can use those grids is to get a friend to join you in their quest to create art every day, then at some stage, swap a number of them. Or what about making ATC’s using them?

Or just send an envelope full of them to an arty friend out of the blue as a random act of kindness.LOL

Anyway, if you like the idea.have a go and enjoy!
